Fresh flints will keep the nanoSPARK™ performing at its best. As the flint wears, performance degrades linearly.

Extra flints may be stored in the nanoSPARK™ tinder capsule below the quickLIGHT™ tinder. Approximately 5 extras will fit.

Unscrew the tinder capsule and remove the quickLIGHT™ tinder. Carefully unscrew the small brass screw (it is spring loaded). Remove the spring and tap out the remaining flint. Place only one new flint into the hole, then insert the spring, slide the brass screw onto the spring, and screw it all back together.

If the old flint is stuck and worn down enough, you may place a new flint behind it. If the old flint is too long, the spring will bind — remove the new flint and continue wearing down the old until the new one fits behind it.
